The two main regions are Yucatán and Quintana Roo , located in the east of the country. These are the places with the most cultural sites to visit and are also the most popular with tourists.
Yucatán includes Chichén Itzá, Mérida and Uxmal.
The Quintana Roo region includes major tourist areas such as Playa del Carmen, Cancún, Tulum, Isla Mujeres, Akumal (button to be found in excursions and activities) as well as major historical sites such as the Ruins of Cobà.
YUCATAN
Chichen Itza
Voted one of the seven wonders of the world, you can't miss the most famous Mayan site in the world! Admire the Pyramid of Kukulcán during your visit.
Chichén Itzá means "at the edge of the well of Itzaes", the site is also located not far from five cenotes, treat yourself by going to cool off in one of them.
Merida
This city nicknamed the "Ciudad Blanca" (White City), built on Mayan ruins in 1542, has among it many colonial monuments with white architecture.
Stroll around the large central square Plaza de la Independencia, or take a trip to the Gran Museo del Mundo Maya! In Mérida we enjoy a festive and lively local life, on the Plaza Grande it is open stage in the evening! You will live there and discover the real Mexican life.
Uxmal
Come and visit this archaeological site considered one of the seven wonders of the world due to its location in the middle of an exceptional natural setting.
The Pyramid of the Diviner (pictured) is the only oval pyramid in Mexico. Discover the Quadrangle of the Nuns, and the Governor's Palace, one of the most beautiful monuments in Yucatán. If you prefer tranquility, go here rather than Chichén Itzá because you will find fewer people there.
QUINTANA ROO
Playa del Carmen
With its paradisiacal beaches lined with palm trees, the city of Playa del Carmen is very lively and very busy, you are sure to think of a good time there!
Ideal climate, streets lined with restaurants with typical cuisine, "Fundadores Park", a pretty Mayan sculpture facing the sea (photo) or even Xcaret, an incredible zoological park, you won't have time to get bored while visiting the city !
Cancún
Cancun is a must! Its white sand beaches and turquoise waters have made it the capital of Mexican tourism and is ideal for lovers of swimming and sunbathing. Indeed, Cancún has it all; the breathtaking views and landscapes offered by the city will leave you with unforgettable images, you can also visit many museums and small offshore islands such as Isla Contoy .

Tulum
Here is "El Castillo", an ancient Mayan fortress overlooking the Caribbean Sea, with its temple of frescoes, simply magnificent. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, on site you will find a lot of original activities to do.
In Tulum, relax on the beach of Boca Païla, go to "Punta Laguna Nature Reserve", go diving, there is something for everyone!
Isla Mujeres
Measuring 8km long, Isla Mujeres is a small diamond. Its name would have been given to it in 1517 by Francisco Hernández de Cordabá, who led a Spanish expedition in search of labor to exploit the gold mines of Cuba. The island offers a landscape worthy of a postcard where you can relax and escape.
For diving and nature lovers, marvel at the clarity of the water and its warm temperature, and the impressive coral reef.
You can just as well explore the city on foot and go shopping.
The ruins of Coba
Live a day of adventure by visiting this real treasure hidden in the rich vegetation that is Cob in , you will see iguanas wandering around the pyramid. Climb the 120 steps of this pyramid to admire the breathtaking view of the Mexican jungle, 47 meters high.
