The different types of accommodation

To stay in Mexico, the offer of accommodation is very diversified, from hammocks to luxury hotel complexes. Here are the different accommodations to find, for an authentic stay:

  • Youth hostels

Youth hostels can be found in most locations where budget travelers hang out. They charge dormitory beds between 150 and 200 Mexican dollars per person, and have kitchens, bathrooms, lounges, etc. Some have additional assets such as a swimming pool, bar, garden or solarium. Sites like  https://www.hostelworld.com/  allow you to find addresses and book online.

  • Hotels

There are a large number of hotels of different categories in Mexico, the most luxurious are large 4 and 5* all-inclusive resorts, ideally located on the beach! To get an idea of prices, you can go to travel agency sites.
Then, it is obviously possible to spend a night in more classic hotels, to be found in the city center for example.

  • hammocks

Today, Mexico is famous for its net hammocks which are among the best in the world, a real institution, it is even common to see one or more hammocks in homes. Renting hammocks is common especially by the sea, it is an economical option in warm regions, some places rent them for 40 to 100 Mexican $, but you can also find them easily in shops and buy them directly.

  • Apartments and B&Bs

You can rent apartments with all the necessary equipment, generally with a good price/quality ratio. In the same spirit, Mexican B&Bs are generally comfortable guesthouses, often tastefully decorated and guaranteeing attentive and personalized service.

  • cabana as _

The cabañas are cabins or huts (in wood, brick, adobe or stone), often covered with thatch, which are most often found by the sea. In the most spartan ones you will have just a bed, bare floor and you'll have to lock the door with a padlock! Conversely, some cabañas are full of charm, with every comfort (electricity, mosquito net, deep bed and/or hammock, bathroom, air conditioning, even equipped kitchen). The most expensive (over $2,000 Mexican) are on the Caribbean coast.

  • Camping and Caravanning

While most campsites are designed for travelers in caravans and motorhomes, they also accept campers with tents for a small fee. As with other types of accommodation, some are very simple and lacking in comfort, and others are luxurious with all the necessary facilities.
